Scientific Objectives

An international meeting, crossroad of exchanges

One of the main themes of cancer research is sequencing the biological pathways leading on the one hand to tumorigenesis, and on the other hand to therapy resistance. This refers to either chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Concerning radiotherapy, research aimed at optimizing its effectiveness has two approaches: the targeting of biological pathways involved in the resistance to ionizing radiations and the optimization of the definition of tumoral topography through the use of molecular imaging and the improvement of ballistic techniques.

The “Novel Targeting Drugs and Radiotherapy: from the bench to the clinic” conference is a forum for communicating the latest international research findings in these various areas. This conference is held in Toulouse where a European center dedicated to cancer research and innovation, the Canceropole, is being created with academic and industrial research teams.
The two first conferences focused on the latest works in sequencing the biological pathways involved in radioresistance of tumors, which enabled the development of new targeting drugs with radiosensitizing potential.

This third conference will be the opportunity to present the latest findings but will also broaden the scope of discussion to the "stem cells and antiangigenics treatment".
